Domain Renewal Management
Pass-through cost + $10 to handle it for you.
Domain renewals are one of those things that should be boring, and most agencies make weird. Here's how I do it.
Pure disbursement model:
• The registrar (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, whoever) charges what they charge
• That cost passes through to you at exact cost — no markup
• If you want me to handle the renewal (recommended for most clients — you don't want a dropped domain), I add a flat $10 management fee per renewal
• If you renew it yourself in the registrar dashboard, there's no fee at all
What "handling it" actually means:
• I get the renewal reminder 60/30/7 days out via the hosting expiry cron
• I check that your card on file with the registrar is still valid
• I confirm the renewal completed
• I email you the receipt + the next renewal date
Typical pricing examples:
• .ca domain renewal at Cloudflare: ~$13 CAD + $10 mgmt = $23 CAD/yr
• .com domain renewal at Cloudflare: ~$13 USD + $10 mgmt = ~$28 CAD/yr
• .legal renewal (premium TLD): registrar cost varies, sometimes $50+
If you have many domains (5+), I'll bundle them onto a single annual invoice so you don't get 12 small charges.
